There are places available on six Governance training sessions with practical, proven ideas for Efficient and Effective Governance either for an Academy, MAT - Trust or Governors in a Mainstream School.

Monitoring Finance - Budget Setting - Wednesday 7th March 2018 at 4pm - 6pm
Purpose: To support governors in setting expectations for effective all year monitoring of the budget and holding senior staff to account
Group: All governors, especially those on Finance committees
Topics: Measuring Value for Money, Best Value principles, Budget setting, Health and Safety, Delegations and responsibilities, monthly monitoring and SFVS.
Governor involvement in staffing appointments and appraisal - Wednesday 21st March 2018 at 4pm - 6pm
Purpose: Ensuring governors are involved in staffing appointments and know the requirements and regulations
Groups: All governors, especially those in Personnel committees
Topics: Appraisal routines, Safeguarding, Safer recruitment protocols, Job descriptions, staff CPD, MAT delegations, interviewing candidates.
