  • Yes, you do. As you will never be left alone with the children, you need to organise and pay for a voluntary DBS.
How can I access the programme?
  • You can access the programme at any of the BCTSC schools that offer the programme. If you are changing career, you may have difficulty in committing to five consecutive days leave, so arrangements could be made to deliver the programme over a period of time. Regardless of how you access and complete the 5-day programme, WTSA are committed to providing five quality-assured school experience days that will introduce you to the career of teaching.
What materials do I get?
  • You will receive a paper copy of the Passport to Teaching School Experience Programme booklet. This will be signed by your host school and you will use this as part of your application and interview process in a BCTSC school.
What if I decide that teaching isn't for me?
  • In the unlikely event that you decide teaching isn't for you you can stop the programme at any point during the 5 days. Likewise, your host school can stop the programme at any point if they feel that it would not benefit you to continue.
