RSHE - Relationships and Health Education Train the Trainer Programme

 for  Primary School PSHE /RSHE leads

Wednesbury Teaching School Alliance is one of the three schools in the West Midlands region commissioned by DfE to provide free training to support schools in preparing for the statutory changes to the RSHE curriculum from September 2020.

Our programme was delivered through six, one-hour webinar modules aimed at PSHE/ RSHE Lead teachers by Wendy McNeil.

The last live session was delivered 17th March 2021, but it's still possible to catch-up with the digital recordings. For more details email:  teaching.school@harvillshawthorn.co.uk

Module 1     "The Big Picture/ programme/ curriculum planning".

Module 2      "Teaching RSE/ PSHE/ Pedagogy/ Mental Health focus".

Module 3     "Puberty and the Changing Adolescent Body" 

Module 4     "Respectful Relationships/ Online Relationships".

Module 5      "Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco".

Module 6     "Being Safe and Way Forward".

At the end of the programme all participants are asked to complete an evaluation form.

There are also opportunities for Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs).

In light of the end of the Teaching School programme in August 2021, the DfE will be sending out information about the future of the SLE roles in the coming months. We are continuing to recruit and designate SLEs during the academic year 2020-2021, but we wanted to make you aware  that arrangements will change after 31st August 2021.
